This was an interesting process as the Choreographer was restaging a previous piece he had done multiple times. We worked together to find how to honor the piece’s previous iterations while still finding a new life for its retelling. The story he was telling had darker undertones to it but bringing it to the light of day was important. This is where the concept started for lighting, having a large open space with variations of white but using side light to deepen undertones with hints of green and indigo. To give the feeling of the swirling turmoil below the surface.
