La Boheme Practical Lighting

Steps

The world we were creating in La Boheme it was set apart from a time or space largely. We wanted for artist to feel represented in this world no matter where or when they come from. The integrated lighting and practicals helped to flesh out this world and show the inner workings of their mind. These people brought life and frivolity to an otherwise sullen place. With a touch of their hand or a note of their voice explosions of colors would come from places otherwise ordinary!

Walls In Use

These two images show the stark contrast to when the practicals are in use and when they are concealed within the set. On the left we start to reach the peak of their artistry but on the right they were still stuck in a more melancholy state. Unable to bring life to their world.

This world was meant to come to life at the touch of these Singers. These are artists that each in their own medium saw what the world could be.

Each one of these step could light up individually for a classic grand entrance. Musetta is the star of everywhere she goes in her mind. These steps lighting up one by one just proves that she brought light to the world.
